Fan Yuen Street Night Market In Kowloon HongKong

Kowloon

Where Old School and Modern Hong Kong Continually Excite the Senses

With its name derived from nine legendary dragons that dwell here, Kowloon peninsula is located north of Hong Kong Island and south of the mainland New Territories. One of the world’s most densely populated areas reveals a fascinating juxtaposition of 21st century grand developments, old school Hong Kong and some of the livelier and unmistakably “local-style” enclaves. Kowloon’s best known district is Tsim Sha Tsui, a major tourist hub and bustling shopping, arts and entertainment area on the southernmost shores beside Victoria Harbour. Some of Hong Kong’s finest museums and galleries and the latest additions of glittering  skyscrapers are found here.

Heading north, the districts of Yau Tsim Mong and Mong Kok are home to some of Hong Kong’s most evocative Chinese neighbourhoods, reminiscent of a bygone era. Stretching out to the east, north and west directions, lesser-known residential districts, including Sham Shui Po, Diamond Hill and Kowloon East, offer yet another alternative side to Hong Kong.
