Signature Educational Journey to Vietnam

Trails of Indochina Hosts Signature Educational Journey to Vietnam, 4–12 October 2026

Trails of Indochina invites trade partners to join our Signature Educational Journey (SEJ) through Vietnam this October, a nine-day immersion into the destinations and experiences our bespoke itineraries are built from. From the colonial elegance of Hanoi to the misted peaks of Sapa, the limestone seascape of Lan Ha Bay and the imperial grandeur of Hue, this fam trip is designed to give agents first-hand knowledge to sell Vietnam with confidence.

The Journey

The trip opens in Hanoi, where a private city tour takes in the 11th-century Thang Long Citadel, the Temple of Literature and a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter’s historic 36 streets. A visit to Dao Thuc Village offers a rare, intimate water puppet performance and time with the artisan keeping this centuries-old craft alive.

From Hanoi, the group travels overland to Sapa for a two-night stay at Topas Ecolodge. Here, a gentle trek through Thanh Kim Valley and Lệch Dzao Village brings guests face to face with Red Zao and H’mong communities and their traditional embroidery techniques, set against terraced rice fields at the start of the autumn harvest. A cable car ascent of Mount Fansipan, the “Roof of Indochina”, rounds out the highlands leg with sweeping views across the Muong Hoa Valley.

Back in Hanoi briefly, the group then heads to Lan Ha Bay for an overnight cruise aboard the Heritage Line Ginger, taking in Cat Ba Island’s Viet Hai Village by bicycle, a hands-on Vietnamese cooking class and a kayak excursion through Frog Lake’s dramatic karst scenery.

The trip concludes in Hue, the former imperial capital, with a full-day city tour of the UNESCO-listed Citadel, the Thien Mu Pagoda and a choice of royal tombs, closing with a Buddhist blessing ceremony at Tu Hieu Pagoda, the root temple of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

Accommodation

Guests will stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, Topas Ecolodge in Sapa, aboard the Heritage Line Ginger in Lan Ha Bay, and at AZERAI La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa, giving agents direct experience of the properties we feature most.
