In March, Thailand approved the construction of a high-speed train network connecting cities throughout the country with links to Malaysia and Laos as well. During this construction period, Thailand will invest in four train lines and 200 high-speed trains with a maximum speed of up to 250km/hour. The project is due to start next year, with the new trains expected to reduce the travel time from Bangkok to Northern Thailand from twelve hours to four hours.
With Myanmar expecting a significant increase in international arrivals this year, the prestigious international Accor Hotel Group has recently announced the opening of three new hotels in Myanmar: MGallery hotel in Naypyidaw and Novotel Yangon Max are both expected to open this year. The third, set for Mandalay - Novotel Mandalay Mingalar will open in 2015.
From 19 April to 14 July 2013, Bridges Bali restaurant in Ubud will host an exhibition of photography and traditional Balinese masks named Two Faces of Bali. The works of two talented local artists will be exhibited in support of the Charity Foundation Bali Kids featuring portraits, flower and ceremonial artifacts.
The exhibition reflects touching moments of beauty and variety in the daily life of Bali, and is an opportunity for the photographer to bring the visitors on a journey to discover the rites, rituals and customs of Balinese people’s culture and traditions.
